The Aron and Michelle Wolf Tzedek Family Fund at the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles was established to celebrate and honor the life of the multi-talented Aron
Avram Wolf, beloved husband, father, son and brother. He cared deeply about his
family, the Jewish community, and had a lifelong passion for aviation, from butterflies to
interplanetary spaceflight.
He learned to fly a light plane before he was old enough to get his driver’s license, and
he shared his love of flying with hundreds of flying students throughout the years. His
professional career was best defined by his 39 years as an aeronautical engineer at the
Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL).
Sharing his passion for flying and space with the next generation was also very
important to Aron, and he was thrilled when the Endeavor orbiter first arrived at the
California Science Center in October 2012, often going to visit it with family members.
He was also ery excited to hear that the Endeavor would be mated to real solid rocket
boosters and ET-94, the last remaining flight-qualified external tank, and was looking
forward to seeing that full vertical stack in all its awe-inspiring elevation of almost 200
feet.
Sadly, pancreatic cancer robbed him of the chance to see this happen and we lost him
on February 13, 2022, but his legacy can still live on with his name included in the
space shuttle's thermal tiles to support the California Science Center Foundation's
efforts to create the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center and sustain ongoing exhibits,
programs and operations.
We invite you to make a gift to the Wolf Family Tzedek Fund to help continue Aron’s
passion for the wonder of aviation and that we all must continue to reach for the stars.
With love,
Michelle, Rachel and Danny
